Location: London, UK and/or remote
Salary: £35,000 pro rata + discretionary bonus p.a.
Start date: ASAP, or as arranged
Application Deadline: 31 March 2020
We are looking for an in-house, part-time writer/copywriter to produce written content for thought leadership articles, speeches and presentations, social media content, and other communications and publications, as required. The position offers flexible working arrangements, and, for the right individual, can develop into a full-time position.
Our work requires intelligent and engaging storytelling and communications. We work with senior leaders at best-in-class organisations across the world. Our readers are discerning and extremely busy. We need someone who can command their attention, entertain them, and inform them – succinctly – regarding matters that impact their careers and businesses. Our subject matter can be complex and nebulous: it matters that the writer/copywriter can bring the material to life, and that their writing gives it tangibility and weight.
The successful candidate will be able to draw on and connect ideas from multiple disciplines and sources; they will take an active interest in current and international affairs; they will be fascinated by human nature; they will be as well-read in non-fiction as they are in fiction; they will be well-travelled and speak at least one foreign language fluently, and; they will enjoy learning about new topics and writing on diverse topics from “the role of male mentors in a post Me Too world” to “how to lead tech integration at corporations in the aerospace industry”.
We are a mission-driven company and have little interest in sitting on the fence. We want a strong writer/copywriter who wants to use their craft in service of speaking up when it counts, emboldening outstanding but overlooked individuals, and supporting leaders who transform organisations, communities, and nations.
You would report to the Managing Director, and will drive the development of style, voice, and tone across our written communications. The writer/copywriter position requires a quietly confident and highly motivated individual who can quickly generate multiple initial concepts, and effectively fulfil both short- and long-form content briefs. Our team is small, and our work often requires long periods of concentration, so the role would suit someone who prefers to work in a quieter environment and/or who wishes to explore flexible working arrangements.
